Back to Bangkok to finish the trip

We had seen pictures of this huge red cylindrical temple with a dragon wrapped around its outside and really wanted to visit. Despite the weather, it did not disappoint. We were dropped off in the car park and walked over a wooden bridge shaped like two enormous tree trunks. On the other side there were dragons everywhere. The outside of the temple would be far more picturesque bathed in sunshine but we got the rather damper view of it instead. Inside we were mortified to find the lift was out of order and instead we had to take our shoes off and walk up the entire inside of the dragon's tail as it made its way to the top.

It has been a funny old week . It still feels odd not to see Gabby on the front drive . We still receive copies of Practical Motorhome - the last may have arrived this week . We will continue to receive MMM magazine until the end of the year. We have spent time ringing the Netherlands to stop the ACSI card , cancelling the Camping and Caravan club memberships and cancelling this and that . Each call reminds us we no longer are part of the fraternity of motorhomers . It still feels odd . Alerts set up to show us deals on holiday homes, gites and hotels . Train Line booked to tell us when cheap train tickets are issued and we continually talk about Eurostar and trips to continent made in different ways . Covid boosters and flu injections out of the way and Autumn is upon us . The mornings are getting darker and the lights are going on earlier every evening . We are only a few weeks away from the end of British Summer Time .

Day 30: Lazy Start, A Walk In The Woods, A Trip To Troc Secondhand Store.

The good news is that I tested for negative for Covid. The bad news is that I feel worse than some people do when they get Covid. This morning was a lazy, late start, and after breakfast, Tim, Sue, and I went for a walk in a nature reserve located at the outskirts of ESch. We walked on dirt tracks through old beech forests, the trees that traditionally grow in this area. The forest was also heavily wooded with oak trees, with acorns lining the paths, and the large leaves reflecting bright green light as they started to turn for autumn. It was a warm morning for this time of the year and thankfully the trees offered welcome shade for most of the journey. A farm occupies most of the walk, and cattle grids mark the borders in and out of the property. Large black cattle, young calves, and a solid powerful looking bull blocked our path at one point, so we took a wide arc around the herd: the team decided the bull deserved a bit of respect.
